The United Way of Greater Houston and the Houston Texans visited students at Fondren Middle to share the message of character. Students and guests explored strategies and plans of action for character based decisions in specific scenarios. The Lunch and learn is a new inactive event for the Character Playbook program. The representatives from both the Texans and United Way participate in a candid discussion about how to approach character in real life. This style event gets to the heart of the program and provides an opportunity for students to share what they have learned and what they experience on an everyday basis.
Texan players Kendall Lamm, Chad Slade, and Cecil Shorts received a warm welcome and had the opportunity to experience the power of Character Playbook first hand. Each player shared their experience with making difficult decisions and told their story of perseverance and commitment. This event was the perfect combination and learning, sharing, and bringing together a community for the cause of character. Go Texans!
