On March 29,2018 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the United Way Suncoast hosted a group Hillsborough County middle school students at One Buc Place to take part in the Character Playbook Experience. Building off their experience with the Character Playbook program in the classroom, 90 middle schoolers had the opportunity to sit in the Bucs team meeting room and discuss why character matters. Tampa Bay Tight End Alan Cross and Bucs Cheerleader Julia were joined by executives from the United Way and the Buccaneers to tell their own story of the importance of character and answer questions about the topic from the audience. Part two of the event had students going through the Character Playbook Experience, 6 character themed stations that combine the game of football and character. Professional Wrestler Titus O’Neal made a surprise appearance at the end of the event and reminded students that “No matter where you are from or what you have we can all be good people.” The Character Playbook Experience at One Buc Place was a culmination of a successful year one in the of Character Playbook in Tampa Bay area schools.
