Baltimore Launch Event Recap

On October 10, 2016 the Baltimore Ravens, United Way of Central Maryland, and Verizon launched Character Playbook at Maree Garnett Farring Middle School. Ravens players Lardarius Webb, Alex Lewis, Morgan Cox, Sam Koch, former player Matt Stover, and United Way of Central Maryland former President and CEO Mark Furst joined students in the classroom session before transitioning to the gymnasium for a character education assembly with 250 students.

As current and former Ravens players spoke about managing emotions, communicating effectively, resolving conflict and making decisions, students were able to relate to similar obstacles the players faced and topics learned in the course. The event wrapped up with a group picture of the students, players and mascot in the school gymnasium.
